When suddenly out of no where a large yellow and black with a little white butterfly, zoomed by. Marco, chased the butterfly while trying to observe it. Today, we used the butterfly website to identify it. We thought it was a swallowtail, so we looked at each type of swallowtail and where it lives in California. Finally, we concluded that it was an Anise Swallowtail. They seem to be quite common in our state.
